Με θετικά πρόσημα ξεκίνησε η τρίτη εβδομάδα του Οκτωβρίου για το ελληνικό χρηματιστήριο, το οποίο έχει «εγκλωβιστεί» μεταξύ των 1.400 με 1.450 μονάδων, με μερικές πρόσκαιρες υπερβάσεις των συγκεκριμένων επιπέδων.
Η Αθήνα μετρά μόλις δύο ανοδικές συνεδριάσεις εντός του Οκτωβρίου, ενώ ο κινητός μέσος όρος (ΚΜΟ) 200 ημερών των 1.396 μονάδων αποτελεί το βασικό σημείο στήριξης.
Στη συνεδρίαση της Δευτέρας (14/10) ο Γενικός Δείκτης ενισχύεται κατά +0,35% στις 1.421,70 μονάδες, έχοντας κινηθεί μέχρι στιγμής μεταξύ των 1.421,18 (χαμηλό ημέρας) και των 1.423,78 μονάδων (υψηλό ημέρας).
Κέρδη +0,71% σημειώνει ο τραπεζικός δείκτης, ο οποίος διαπραγματεύεται στις 1.215,35 μονάδες. Ο FTSE 25 (υψηλής κεφαλαιοποίησης) καταγράφει άνοδο +0,44% στις 3.451,36 μονάδες και ο Mid Cap (μεσαίας κεφαλαιοποίησης) ενισχύεται κατά +0,47% στις 2.292,89 μονάδες.
Στο επίκεντρο βρίσκεται η Attica Bank μετά την έγκριση του ενημερωτικού δελτίου για την αύξηση μετοχικού κεφαλαίου των 735 εκατ. ευρώ. Αναμένουμε επίσης την εισαγωγή των νέων μετοχών της Cenergy Holdings από την ΑΜΚ ύψους 200 εκατ. ευρώ.
ATHEX headed north on Friday, after four consecutive sessions with losses, underperforming however the European stock markets. In more detail, the General Index rose by 0.37% at 1,416.78 units (FTSE Large Cap: +0.48%, FTSE Mid Cap: +0.24%, Banks Index: +0.52%) and the traded value was shaped at EUR 111.1m, up from Thursday’s EUR 107.0m. On a weekly basis, the General Index dropped by 1.47% w-o-w (FTSE Large Cap: -1.38%, FTSE Mid Cap: -1.06%, Banks index: -1.72%). We expect ATHEX to try to move higher today. Ahead this week: prospectus approval of SCI of Attica Bank today (press), trading of new shares of CENERGY on Wednesday, S&P credit rating review on Greece (Friday amc).

Piraeus announced that it will report 3Q24 results on Friday 01 November at 10:00 Athens/08:00 London Time. The management will host a CC on the same day at 15:00 Athens/13:00 London Time.
Alumina and Aluminium prices spike after Guinea pause exports (press)-positive for Metlen
According to Bloomberg, Aluminum prices jumped more than 2% in London after a key supplier of the mined ore needed to make the metal said exports from its operations in Guinea had been suspended. Alumina futures in Shanghai also hit the highest since contracts were launched in June 2023. The news is positive for Metlen, who as a reminder acquired two additional Beauxite mines this year, one in Greece from Imerys and one in Ghana.
OTE Share buyback
OTE purchased on 7-11 October 230,851 own shares for a total amount of EUR 3,631,251 at an average price of EUR 15.729. The company now holds 3,763,313 own shares or 0.912% of the total share capital.
Hellenic Exchanges CEO bought shares
Hellenic Exchanges announced that on 09 October 2024, the CEO of the company purchased 10,000 common shares at an average price of EUR 4.45, for a total value of EUR 44,500.
Intracom Holdings bought Intralot shares
Intralot announced that on Friday, Intracom Holdings purchased 100,000 common shares of Intralot at an average price of EUR 1.066, for a total value of EUR 106,576.45.

The ASE Index ended flattish on Friday, up 0.3%, recovering from early losses by midday, on a EUR 111m turnover. The banking sector rose 0.5%, with Eurobank recording c.1% gains, closely followed by Piraeus +0.9%, while Bank of Cyprus slipped 0.9%. PPC and OTE outperformed, up 2%, Cenergy marked a 1.6% increase and Metlen finished 1% higher. On red, Jumbo and Lamda were both down 0.8%, Titan lost 0.7%, with Aegean and ATHEX recording a c.0.7% drop.

POLITICS
Nikos Androulakis has been re-elected as the leader of PASOK defeating Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, with nearly 60% of the vote, in the second round of elections that took place on Sunday. Nikos Androulakis has been the leader of PASOK since December 2021.
MACRO
According to ELSTAT, turnover of enterprises in August 2024 recorded an increase of 2.9% yoy.
BANKS
According to press reports, the four systemic banks will reveal the key parameters of the DTC plans during the 3Q24 results. Reportedly, the target is to double the amortization period from c.EUR 750m currently to around EUR 1.3bn.
CENERGY <CENER GA>
The company announced that on the basis of the results of the book-building the offer price was determined at EUR 9.0 per new share with Cenergy issuing 22.2m new shares. The allocation to the various categories will be announced tomorrow.
Market Comment // Swinging between gains and losses throughout Friday’s session, the ASE index managed to close in the green, advancing by 0.37% to settle at 1,416.8 points. Despite the day’s advance, the index recorded a weekly decline of c1.5%. Trading activity on Friday stayed above the €100mn threshold reaching €110mn, albeit remaining below the 100-day MA of €120mn. Intralot, PPC and OTE led gainers advancing by 2.5% and 2.0% respectively, followed by Cenergy (+1.6%), Kri-Kri (+1.5%), Autohellas (+1.5%) and Quest (1.4%), while Eurobank (+1.0%), Piraeus Bank (+0.9%), Motodynamics (+0.8%), Metlen (+0.7%), EYDAP (+10.7%), Gekterna (+0.7%), PPA (0.6%) and Ideal (+0.5%) also posted modest gains. Conversely, Jumbo fell 0.9%, followed by Lamda (-0.8%), TITC (-0.8%), Aegean Airlines (-0.7%), Hellenic Exchanges (-0.7%), and Ellaktor (-0.7%). EU futures suggest a muted opening this morning, with investors evaluating the weekend’s developments around China’s stimulus plan and its potential effects on global markets.
Banks // According press, starting in 2025, the annual amortization of DTC for the four systemic banks is set to double, reaching up to €1.5bn, with a minimum of €1.3bn. Currently, amortization is c€750mn, or €150-200mn per bank. This will be deducted from the banks’ regulatory capital, which totals €24.57bn, while their deferred tax stands at €12.42bn. Each bank’s DTC amortization plan will be revealed in early November alongside their Q3 and nine-month results. The aim is to eliminate DTCs by the early 2030s, a decade earlier than initially planned, depending on profitability.
Politics // Mr Androulakis secured a second term as Leader of PASOK party, wining the runoff for the leadership by a comfortable margin. As a reminder, Mr. Androulakis has been leader of PASOK since December 2021 but was forced to call party elections after a rather disappointing showing at the European Parliament elections last June.
